Have you seen the original Electro & Co. ETM RTR? It is one of our favorite pit bikes, and at 8kW, it also rockets. However, Electro & Co. didn’t stop there. They have been working hard behind the scenes on an even faster e-moto to add to their lineup of high-quality bikes.

Introducing the ETM RTR Alpha, an 18kW 92V pit bike-sized e-moto that is race ready. Not just track ready, race ready. This thing even comes with a holeshot mode!
If you want to see it in action, here is the video from Electro & Co.:
At the time of writing, we haven’t been able to get our hands on the Alpha yet, but knowing the team at Electro & Co., and how they’ve built the ETM RTR, we know we’re all going to be in for a treat. Let’s have a look at the specs and what we know already.

ETM RTR Alpha Power Plant
Normally associated with toy-like fun, a pit bike is usually what riders muck around on in the pits. Getting from A to B or attempting some random stunts on a small bike just for the sake of it, but nothing serious, and nothing at any sort of speed.
The ETM RTR Alpha is anything but that! With 92 Volts delivering 18kW of power, this is a serious dirt bike packed into a frame the size of a pit bike. Wild. The instant power delivery of an electric motor means you’ll be up to the 70+mph top speed in record time. Coming with two power modes and a hole shot mode, you have the option to race around the track or dial in the power to handle some tight technical trails.
The motor is a Revolver Alpha 65H IPM brushless motor that drives a 420, high-performance chain.
Battery and Range
Powering the ETM RTR Alpha is an 80V 30 Ah hot swappable battery. There are options to expand this to a larger battery, but to keep weight down, the battery that comes standard with the Alpha would be more than enough for most riders. The fact that it is hot swappable means you can race and swap batteries in an instant.

Depending on your riding style, the stock battery should give you between 30 and 60 miles of riding. That’s a lot of laps of an MX track! And, if you don’t have a spare battery, you can charge in as quickly as one hour with a 12 Amp fast charger. Grab some lunch, and you’ll be good to go again.
Chassis and Frame
Here is where things really move away from other small electric dirt bikes. The suspension is something like you’d expect to see on a full sized race bike. The forks are 48mm E&C tuned DNM Fully Adjustable, which are paired with the E&C tuned DNM Reservoir fully adjustable rear shock.
The suspension has been meticulously tuned by the pro riders from E&C, allowing a really even feel to the bike. However, they’re fully adjustable, so you can tweak them to your riding style and weight.
The brakes are solid 4-piston disc brakes on both the front and the rear. That’s a heap of stopping power – which you’ll need with the way this thing launches from the gate!
Holding the ETM RTR Alpha together is a precision-created frame, subframe, and all the little intricate parts that make up the bike. This is where we know that Electro & Co. mean business when they say you won’t need to upgrade anything later. As a company that started off upgrading other bikes, they’ve thought all the crucial bits through, and all the weak points in other brand e-motos have been addressed.
The triple clamps are CNC’d, same with the Bar Clamps, Peg Bar, Wheel Hubs… all to take the abuse of hard riding. If you’ve read any of our previous articles, you’ll also know that we’ve spotted many flexi swing arms in other brands, the cause of many chains coming loose. Electro & Co. have created a swing arm that’s extra rigid and complemented it with a CNC MX-style axle block. With all this extra strengthening, the bike still comes in at only 135 pounds.

Excited yet? We are!
Can you mod the ETM RTR Alpha?
Here is where things get interesting. At GritShift, we’re a company all about modding. We love to improve and upgrade our bikes to the fullest extent possible. But so far, from what we’ve seen and when we’ve chatted with the Electro & Co. team… we’re not sure if anything at all needs to be upgraded on this bike.
Sucks, because we’re a company that sells upgradable parts! Anyway… Electro & Co. are also a company that knows most riders love to upgrade their bikes, so they’ve incorporated a design system that allows upgrades relatively easily. Don’t forget, Electro & Co. started out as a company designing upgraded parts for electric dirt bikes, too… so they also love a good mod!
When we get our hands on the Alpha, Rusty and his team will check out all the compatible parts and report back to you. Electro & Co. will also have many upgradable options, so keep an eye out for these as they get released.
Even if no mods are required on the ETM RTR Alpha, it is also handy to know the bike is designed in a way to be moddable. This means that if you inevitably find yourself in the dirt with some broken components of a bike, you can order just the parts you need to get yourself quickly back on the track. It’s all part of pushing the boundaries and competition! (Just be as safe as possible… remember to wear the right gear!)

Where do you ride the ETM RTR Alpha?
The ETM RTR Alpha is a bike designed for experienced riders. It is made for those who want to win at races, be faster than their mates, and get that holeshot. Although this is a small-sized bike, the ergonomics are made for an adult or experienced teen rider. Don’t let the size fool you; don’t buy one of these for your young kid. Check out this article on the ETM RTR Lite if you’re new to dirt bikes and looking for your child.
If you’re not sure about the 14/12 wheel and tire setup, then have a look at the Alpha XL. Same beast underneath, but with bigger tyres and extended geometry to keep everything in race- proportional performance. The XL isn’t just the Alpha with bigger wheels; it also comes with XL geometry.

If you’re not sure about the crazy power and want something slightly more entry-level, then check out the ETM RTR Sport or the Lite, depending on your needs and budget.
