E Ride Pro SS 2.0: Ultimate High Performance Electric Dirt Bike for Adults

E Ride Pro SS 2.0

The E Ride Pro SS 2.0 is a 72 Volt, 60 mph, action-ready electric dirt bike built for adult riders who want the best of the best, and to push their own limits. We’ve personally owned it, thrashed it, and loved every second of it, and for anyone looking to get their hands on an SS of their own, these are all the stats you need to know.

E Ride Pro was the first company to release a stock e-moto with a huge 72-volt powertrain, giving high top speeds, fast acceleration, and good battery range. Purposely built to be taken off-road and ridden like a race bike, the E Ride Pro SS 2.0 will make any terrain look easy.

We have loved E Ride Pro since they released their first e-moto, and have personally owned the SS 2.0, and more of their range. Check out this video of us after we got our own E Ride Pro SS.

If you’re looking for even more power, check out the SS 3.0 or even the E Ride Pro SR, but if you’re thinking excellent value for money – and an e-moto well under $5000, this SS 2.0 needs to be top on your list. In the words of Ricky Carmichael, this e-moto is a ‘clinic’ for e-motos! 😛

Gas bike riders will enjoy the freedom of quieter rides (aka less annoyed neighbors), and e-moto riders will love the awesome performance straight from the factory. This is also a solid bike that’s excellent to mod if you’re a modding pro.

The Stats for the E Ride Pro S and SS

Power: Not for the faint-hearted

Acceleration

The E Ride Pro SS 2.0 has a huge 12KW peak output, hitting 30 mph from stationary in only 2.36 seconds! You better have a good grip on your handlebars for that kind of acceleration! Keep the power on and you’ll see 60 mph, all with a stock powertrain. Wild!

Range

Range is over 50 miles at 25 mph, which is a solid afternoon’s ride at your local track. And, if you do need to recharge, it takes only 2 hours. Or, even better, you can quickly hot swap the battery faster than it takes your mate to do a hot refuel!

Build quality: Built to last (Even with racers riding it!)

Chassis

With all the testing we put our electric dirt bikes through, we haven’t been able to break anything on the E Ride chassis! And we’ve cased more triples than we’d like to admit… Anyway, E Ride Pro has been listening to riders, they know things like the footpeg mounting points are known to be weak in other e-motos, so they engineered this part to be stronger. Just one of the little things that make E Ride Pro stand out.

Brakes: Just as important as the power!

The brakes come with a singular 220mm rotor out front and another 220mm rotor out back.

Suspension

The E Ride Pro SS 2.0 comes with the all-new E Ride Factory fork, which has a 45lb upgraded spring to withstand harsh riding conditions. The rear shock comes ready to ride with pre-adjustments made for the majority of riding conditions.

Features: The cool stuff

Modes

With multiple modes to choose from, the E Ride Pro is great for both beginners and experienced riders.

By setting the riding mode to ECO, you’ll have less acceleration and less power output, which is perfect for those learning to ride. It also increases the range, so riding trail-to-trail doesn’t cost you as many precious miles.

The other main mode is SPORT, which unleashes the full continuous amount of power output from the battery and motor. Or, for even more boost, press the TURBO button for a limited burst of energy to propel you to 60 mph.

Display

The full-color, easy-to-read display on the E Ride Pro SS 2.0 lets you know everything you’ll need to know for a safe ride. This includes showing the remaining battery level.

The Regen braking modes are also simple to engage. Select option 1 for mild regen, or option 2 for strong regen. For those new to e-moto, the regen is the amount of ‘engine braking’ feel like you’ll find on your ICE bike, except here the energy is recouped from deceleration and fed back into the battery.

Lights

The E Ride Pro SS 2.0 has an excellent headlight, and it comes with an upgraded headlight switch. The headlight can be turned on and off – yes, seems obvious, but not every brand has this ability…

Connectivity

The ignition is a dual-position ignition switch, which allows for accessory charging, so you’ll get to recharge your camera to continue filming epic videos of your riding!

Comfort

Made for off-road adventures, the E Ride Pro SS 2.0 is top of its category in the mid-sized e-moto world. Its high performance and handling characteristics will impress even the die-hard gas fans.

Be confident in riding when standing knowing the E Ride Pro SS 2.0 has fully braced footpegs, and the ergos are really nice. If you’re taller than average, you might consider a direct mount stem riser to raise your handlebars up slightly, but I’d suggest looking into this on any e-moto.

Why choose the E Ride Pro SS 2.0?

The E Ride Pro e-moto range came racing onto the e-moto scene a few years ago. They quickly became known as a high-quality, fast e-moto that isn’t for the faint of heart.

E Ride Pro is a company that listens to the public. They started with an excellent machine, and have only improved it through its iterations, with suggestions from those who ride it. As a retailer ourselves, and as riders and racers ourselves, we know a robust bike when we ride it, and that’s exactly what you get with an SS 2.0.

Comparison: E Ride Pro SS 2.0 vs Surron LBX

Do you buy the E Ride Pro SS 2.0 or the old standby, the Surron LBX? This always comes down to personal preference, but you can’t go past the statistics side by side. At the time of writing, the price is the same, but check out the difference in performance.

Mods? There is a huge range for both brands.

Warranty? Both brands offer 12-month warranty. They are very similar in what is covered, but read all the details, or ask your dealer to make sure you know the warranties.

How to buy: The Surron can only be purchased in person at a limited number of dealers. The E Ride Pro bikes can be purchased from any authorized dealer, which also includes their online stores. Which, of course, includes us right here at GritShift!

Does the E Ride Pro SS 2.0 come unlocked and unrestricted?

The E Ride Pro SS 2.0 comes limited at 20 mph as this is assumed to meet legal requirements. At GritShift, we leave the restriction in place for safety – we sell bikes to people at all experience levels – but you always have the option to do what you feel is best.
