Just Announced: Stark Varg Sköll

The Varg has been the epitome of electric dirt bikes since it first entered the scene. An out-of-the-box machine that would easily take on, and win, any race against its gas counterparts. Unlike the more affordable Surron or E Ride e-motos, Stark’s Varg is a full-sized, highly powerful dirt bike designed for those who want a true gas replacement. 

Stark has been an innovative company, striving to get the best of the best. They have been continuously updating their products to remain at the front of their industry. The Varg Sköll is no exception. A limited-edition 80HP supermoto Varg. Only 500 of these bikes will be built.

Here is what we know about the record-breaking Sköll: 

Stark Varg Sköll Specs

Built on the chassis of the well-known Varg SM, the Sköll is way more than just a black colorway supermoto version. While they’ve gone all out with their impressive finishes, down to the perfect glimmer in the paintwork, Stark has also included some high-end specs. 

Here is a glimpse of the Sköll features: 

• 80HP (the Alpha version)
• 271 pounds 
• Dynamic traction control
• Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires
• SM spec suspension – fully adjustable, of course!
• Titanium footpegs

And, it is fully homologated for road use in the USA with a Class M licence. 

What we’re really excited about are all the small details – this has been reported to be the lightest SM Varg built yet. The titanium bolt kit and footpegs each save some weight. It might not be much, but all these little details add up – and are an example of Stark Varg’s attention to detail.

Stark has gone the extra mile in the finish on the Sköll.

Notice the attention to detail in the colorway. Even the triple clamps have been black anodized – complete with engraving.

Has anything remained the same as the Varg SM? 

The chassis has been kept the same as the Varg SM, complete with the 7.2 kilowatt-hour battery. The geometry is the same as the SM; the forks are the same KYB option on both the SM and the Sköll.

The biggest difference in the body is the reduction of weight.

The backstory: 

Located in Barcelona, Spain, is a steeply banked, old racing circuit, the Autòdrom de Sitges-Terramar. Built back in 1923, the vision was for it to become a world class 2km concrete racing circuit. When rising costs got in the way, it was abandoned until 2012, when Red Bull decided to set a new lap record of 42.600 seconds, racing an Audi R8. The circuit has not been resurfaced since 1923.

Fast forward to 10th September, 2026, Jonas Skovby beat that record, riding at an average pace of 172km/hr. He clocked a 41.888 lap time on the Stark Varg sköll. 

Do you need this new Varg Sköll? 

Is that a silly question? Um.. Yes! I think everyone needs the Varg Sköll. I wouldn’t say no to one sitting in my garage! 

However, the price tag is rather heavy. The black colorway is awesome, the specs are next level, but is it worth the extra money? At almost $2000 more than the standard Varg SM, as for the weight savings, most of us everyday riders probably wouldn’t notice the difference. 

And at almost $10 000 more than a high-performance E Ride like the SR, you need to work out what exactly you are after in your electric dirt bike.  

While I think the Varg is amazing, unless you want to compete directly with gas dirt bikes, many other high-performance e-motos would be just as much fun – and way better on the wallet.
